penniless and begging on corner street

penniless corner-street thieves
out to satisfy addicted nature,
stealing peace from self,
from world, corporate entities –
i don't wear suits, or ties
i'm not a corporate dog

i miss the coffee shops
and long hours
of staring into screens
composing lines of
exalted american sutra

I like this very much, it captures something I see often, on the street corners, and in the coffee shops. It's nice how tightly you've constructed this, how you've caught something in so few lines. Have you read Gary Snyder? He comes to mind after reading this, and for someone every gentler, which seems to be your nature: Kenneth Rexroth.
