seventeen

seventeen year old girl,
creep on bus, hitting on her –
the smell of beer and urine
soaked into musty clothing,
skin like leather,
fried beneath floridian sun,
unkempt beard

Thomas you have placed me there in that bus. You allowed me to have my senses attacked all at once. I see the young girl, scared yet showing no emotion while the "creep" reaches out to her in his drunkenness. You spent time exploring that person and giving us the visual of who he is. Your poetry has a rugged and real feel. Very well done. :) kathy

This was massively explorable. In just a few lines you outlined the abuse many people experience in everyday life. Bravo!
