Piety

Let me reel in pain

an agony seep in

with clenched fists, bent wrists,

slowly bring up this dark flame,

this pleasure in abyss,

and burn

till nothing bright remains within

Let me purge this anger

Strangle this worthless ego,

Wear a cloak of haplessness,

bury deep the Heretic,

before you remind me,

once again,

of the consolation,

waiting in Heavens.

A very powerful write that reaches deep into the annals of crime and punishment. Outstanding write.

(Congratulations on being a staff pick too!)
