ONLY EVEN IF AND I COULD
Bound to their past traditionsWhat never worked dealt dirty
Babies on powdered milk deserted
Up in age wisdom tied to disgrace
Told what to say, repeat it twice
If you want to eat good take their advice
The choice for employment not a option
Your freedom of speech a dying breed
Only even if and I could
Safe on third not out of the woods
Only even if and I could
One finger points, no snitches in the hood
If I had the power I'd flip the script
Only even if and I could
Imagine birds void of wings
And elephants were made to fly
While books took the place of comas
Down and out trapped by paper chains
Romance prearranged by sheer jealousy
If you want to be embraced by family accept
Grandparents have the duty, you the captain
Your freedom of speech a dying breed
Only even if and I could
Safe on third not out of the woods
Only even if and I could
One finger points, no snitches in the hood
If I had the power I'd flip the script
Only even if and I could
I think I can
Only even if and I could
Change the world being a girl?
I believe I can
Only even if and I could
I think I can
Make a difference, motherhood
Only even if and I could
