Each Other Down
When time comes to let each other downShall we say it was the gravity of the situation?
If our forest becomes a sea even deeper than the sky
Will I look at you and ask why once more
For all the love I need, just to drown?
Was found with you in smoke-ring circles words were drawn
By breaths we drew out of ourselves at last again
As though a life was meant to be once past the rain,
Were we only lost in the finding of another metaphor?
Cast in the beauty of nervous laughter like a zebra's camouflage
So fast I flew to meet the bullet I could never dodge your stripes
Burned me all the day through the patterned model of my human core,
When the sunset spreads a lovely melancholy wing and sings laments
Will I wonder all alone unknown even to myself what was said
In streams of frames the names of light and waves of night bring darker moments
For all purposes and intents shown enough to become unafraid
To hold close this romance of renown
Then time comes to let each other down...
