post-glacial
a landscape on the reboundrising from the sea
rocks worn silken-smooth
by the retreating ice
a river changed its course
as seabeds turned to fields
and hunters left the silken rocks
to take a plow to newborn soil
when will the ice roll in
to grind the silky rocks to sand
to change the river's course
and return us to the sea
