release from bondage

shadows of thought
at speed of whimsy
gaze down roads passed
by light of -- a sliver moon

as birds chained to sky
fly
with
-- abandon

hurry spin of chaos
fragments -- no longer whole
stoic wisdom -- silence
-- quiet breaths

of no breath
from those who have
gone before
-- just gone

still haven't gotten
message across
last breath
needn't come

ground critters
forage and grope
a seed here
-- a seed there

while religion's crooked legs
come in with a limp
what is delicate taught
to feel -- guilt

those things -- genuine
conned and cast away
as new wine ripens
on the vine

ancient rhythms
reach back beyond
-- beginning
hollow dark of death

shades open light
of -- life

-- release from bondage
daily -- daily
thoughts flow through
it -- within it -- without it

watching it
swimming it
quickens its pace
slows it -- down

yonder stands terminus
-- disguise immaculate
covers what's behind
-- its eyes

release from
bondage
-- something eternal about
it

haven't decided what.

The final release. Beautiful writing, Victor! As always your poems are ethereal, complicated, and always intelligent and enjoyable. It's good to have you back here. Don't stay away so long next time! :-)
