than actually drinking it

he on the other side
finished the bottle soon enough
and lived to tell of his achievements

there was only one word in between them
or perhaps all of these repeated
if one ever reads them

I keep coming back to this because it intrigues me. I can relate, but why does a woman stay with a drinking man?
