In Case of Emergency Break Glass

I take a deep breath and step into your darkness
it surrounds me within seconds
wraps me in sulphur

My skin is singed and my heart is weeping
from the pain that permeates the nightmare
you call your life

How you stand to live there I will never know
but you cannot hurt my loved ones anymore
stay inside and burn if you must

There is another world out here full of light
where children can run free and fill the air with laughter
join us when you are ready.

Wumbulu
I clench my fist...I want to punch him in the face...but there's another world out there...I am touched twice..

I've known people who seem to burn in their very intensity. Not even a fire extinguisher could put them out.

Love the images and rhythm of the poem.

This is powerful and very sad. I hope he finds his way to the light. A very well written poem with deep insights. I like it very much.
