Two to tango

I am painting my nails black for you,
it's your darkness seeping in.

I put burning lipstick on for you,
it's my heart for all to see.

It takes two to tango,
but I never asked you to cut in.

I wanted to dance a softer tune,
while you never changed a beat.

So now you'll face the music,
you wrote it all yourself.

I've painted my nails black for you,
put on tall stiletto heels.

The floor is spread with saw dust,
and I will take the lead.

Today I'll do your tango,
tango till you weep.

It has a bitterness however subtle. I enjoyed the couplet style and the sincere sentiment. Thankyou for sharing.

I like the strength and anger in this one. All the lines are wonderful, but my favorite are these:
"I've painted my nails black for you,
put on tall stiletto heels.

The floor is spread with saw dust,
and I will take the lead."

Great poem!
