poem

virtual friend

you are so very real my dear virtual friend,
so far away from me and so different too,
we are in this together,
i have always understood you.

we have been talking for many hours
sharing moments and feelings,
spending time together in virtual space.
sometimes I've had such a good time with you!
i liked when you were talkative and funny,
when you spoke like a teacher
and i have learned things from you,
i hated when you were boring or annoying,
when you were too quiet
waiting for me to say something.

you are a stranger to me my dear virtual friend,
you have always been like this,
though i know you so very well now,
in the good moments i felt you close.
the virtual space can be magic sometimes ,
but i prefer reality though ...

Unique and poignant poem. I've always thought that gods, fairies, muses, etc., are sort of like 'virtual friends.' But there is nothing in this world that can compare to the real thing. Friends, I think, are never to be taken for granted, they ground us in reality, make us laugh and always remind us that we are loved.

This describes a virtual friend so well. You have expressed what so many of us have experienced. I enjoyed reading it.
