life after wasted life

life after wasted life
like lemmings
fall from cliffs

so much history
falling into
the final abyss

hurry hurry
let's save
what we can

soon oblivion
is the sand
we walk

Hi Bob. It's good to see your posts again. This reminds me of the end of life as we know it. With climate changes we will see the end of polar bears, penguins, trees, birds, and so many other things we have taken for granted. Our children and grandchildren won't know what these things are, so we must preserve them in any way we can, even if in writing and pictures. You talk about so much history falling into the final abyss, and the urgency to hurry, hurry! I feel our generation will be the last one to see many of these wonders so it's up to us to keep the records. I remember my trip to the Amazon in the 80's and now I have seen pictures where Tefe''s floating houses have been turned into hotels, and huge chunks of the Amazon are so completely deforested that they have turned to deserts. Sorry about the rant, but that's what I get, and there is an urgency to keep this image alive, in my opinion. I hope I didn't mess up your beautiful poem. *

I enjoyed this Bob, it speaks to me of war, remembering and its aftermath.
