My cousin and her fiancee have been trying to conceive for 10 years,
last Thursday the stork delivered, or God, or themselves, choose your idol, but here is my spontaneous poem written just minutes after hearing the good news on the telephone ...

The new kid in town

To give life from above
from a womb
out of a thought,
from the love between two

Yesterday came a kid from upstairs
looking like an angel
dirty as a traveler
far away from home
here at bay

Baby, kid, great, great
what words will you know
that first steps
your mother is looking at you
the first to say yes!
to you

your father right behind
eager to lift you up to the skies
loving you for who you are
the kid,
right here
right now

for ever more

children, especially babies birth hope in all who love them. And loving them comes so easily.

As someone with many nieces and nephews, I predict that you'll have many good times with this new kid in town. Children help us remember what is was like when everything was new and every experience a wonder and remind us to laugh and not take things so seriously. Enjoyed.

Congratulations to the new uncle in town too. This is really inspired. :-) Nothing seems as miraculous as new life.
