one of my deepest poems..where i break free from constraints which my heart put on me...the last line initially said "My Name Is Steven And I Am My Own Master"...but i changed it when i was entering the open mic competition

awakening

you snickered behind your closed doors
looking out the keyhole and saw what you thought was a weak outer shell
litle did you know that every day this shell got more full
every day this shell got stronger
until that day came and the shell couldnt be seen
and you were puzzled as to what had happened to this weak being
so you open your closed door only to find
that the shackles that you placed on the shell's feet have been left behind
you pounded on your head like if you were going out of your mind
and suddenly the door from which you got your strength
crumbles as the former shell walked in its path
the shackles which seemed broken just dissapeared
all of the weapons you used against this being can be found nowhere
that caniving snicker now turns into a yelp in fear
because you just stepped into your former victim's lair
the ground trembles and you suddenly gasp for air
you can believe that this beast came out of that shell
with two eyes...two ears..one nose and mouth
two arms..two legs do you know what im talkin about?
yes..thats a human..not just an open heart
an empty shell shackled and locked in the dark
because that heart was connected to a brain which got the courage
to make that bold step and confront this aggressor
that human stood face to face with its oppressor
screamed his free name and stood tall

Hmm...Steve, I would advise you to collect this peoms together and forward it to a publisher.

Obviously, you will make a great poet. Again, it is excellent and mesmerizing. Full of promises and jocund.
