For years and years I 've been trying to understand this. Here is my attempt have you ever tried to understand it as well?

No need 2 silently gaze into the horizon

The only thing your attitude tells me is that you should not buy an aquarium with fishes in it. Because you will not care for them.

(Only)Why? Why only when meeting someone IRL can you be your true self online, feel caring and nourishing? - IRL where the illusive opportunity of touching and holding on to is present  Or shall we run away together when we feel as one? Run away from where? I am always here right where you are.

- Instead of feeling how you take me back Back when you acquired knowledge(memories) and developed your ability to judge Why do I have to go back and forth just to see  - witness what you have done to your soul? Shall I guide your thoughts while I observe your body language that never lies so you will eventually arrive to the right conclusions so you can feel safe with me so you can be your true self while we sit across each other -irl?

Why can you recognize perfection when you see it but never be (you or someone else)as perfect as innerly perceived? Perfection is not the fulfillment of needs - your needs. Perfection is what gives you the opportunity to evolve or the right kind of conflict in order to evolve.

IRL you can confirm how someone is taking care of their health and evaluate if this person is contagious or you can also confirm that you never really read their words online you merely confirmed your own assumptions. What is more scary? To know that you cannot read or that you cannot see because you live in an imaginary world and your needs make those that will fulfil them perfect until they served their purpose and are no longer suitable? Face yourself online while you sleep while you daydream while you exist together with others…

and no matter what my opinion of you will be after the irl meeting is done and over with you will not become what my opinion of you is why do you keep becoming what others see in you… think about it it might be out of love Like a genie that grants wishes but still....

Interesting ideas. What I like about being online is that it allows me to distill some element of what I am so that people focus on that. (This doesn't work on Facebook because it connects at once to too many people who know you in too many ways.) In real life, one is all sorts of things, and, actually, none of them matters because, as you suggest, one is only what each person perceives him or her to be. My actual existence ceases to be of any importance, and, if you, somehow, could escape your perception of me, you might find that I am motionless, floating in your aquarium.

This may be too obvious to write, but—IRL you are defined by a few narrow parameters: looks, education, locale, social strata, intelligence, and so on. Online, you can define yourself, play roles, experiment, BE SOMEONE ELSE FOR A CHANGE. It's gloriously liberating, and dangerous as hell. But I think the advantage of being online, and creating a persona, or liberating a part of you that has never seen the light of day, is good for the entire being. We hold so much of ourselves in, IRL. We're all complicated beings, we all have thoughts within that we stifle. Online is an opportunity to breath, let it out, be a Self that would otherwise never exist. And, in a twisted sort of way, this online role-playing, this liberation, can enhance real life, make it more precious by comparison, since it certainly isn't illusory.

I'm not sure if this is what you were after, but this is what came.

Why does what you say here seem so familiar to me? No, not your words, but their meaning. I think I have known someone just like you describe. This is thoughtful and intelligent thinking.
I have indeed tried to understand it and failed. Excellent writing.
