banana peels
last week, i bought two bananasat the convenience store down the road,
value deal, a dollar
i ate one immediately,
discarding the peels in the trash
by the bus stop
in front of the school
later, when they had been
sitting in the sun
for hours,
they were browning, rotting
i aced my spanish test,
verbs and adjectives
float in my mind,
and now, i capture them
on digital pages
