Son of the Beach
When the sun came up this morningI felt this urgent call.
I had to head down to the ocean
And get away from it all.
I threw a bag together and hopped into my car.
I drove straight to the coast.
Thank God it wasn't far.
I'm just a son of the beach.
She has power over me.
I'm just a son of the beach.
That is where I feel so free.
I'll never roam too far
She'll always be within my reach.
I'm a son of the beach.
Yes, a son of the beach.
I don't know just what it is.
I feel so at home down there.
The sand, the waves, the salt air
Take away my cares.
If I had my way, I'd live down by the shore.
With my toes in the sand
I'd stay forever more.
I'm just a son of the beach.
She has power over me.
I'm just a son of the beach.
That is where I feel so free.
I'll never roam too far
She'll always be within my reach.
I'm a son of the beach.
Yes, a son of the beach.
So, come on little darlin'.
Oh, won't you please join me?
We could live our lives in flip flops
Down by the deep blue sea.
We'll frolic in the ocean, dance beneath the stars.
Sip on margaritas
At the local tiki bars.
I'm just a son of the beach.
She has power over me.
I'm just a son of the beach.
That is where I feel so free.
I'll never roam too far
She'll always be within my reach.
I'm a son of the beach.
Yes, a son of the beach.
