Not really sure where this came from.. I've had the idea for some time and it just came out the other day.

What I Really Want

You are beautiful;
I'd give you the world if I could.

I could never accept it;
I don't deserve anything at all.

You don't even realise it,
But you are the most special person I have ever met.

How can you say such things
When you see how horribly I treat myself?

Because despite what you say,
You deserve so much more than all of this pain.

I deserve what I get,
I deserve it all.
Your love for me, though beautiful,
Can never replace my love for myself.

I know how hard you're trying, my love.

Oh, you have absolutely no idea.

No matter what you do,
I'll spend my days waiting for you.

I wish that I could love you the way you love me,
But I can't.
I can hardly meet my own gaze.
My self-hatred becomes more unbearable each day...
It's best that you just leave and never return.

Your vision is so incredibly distorted.
I wish that you could see what I see.
Maybe then, you would belong to me.

I wish I could see it too...
Maybe then, I'd spend my days
Wasting time with you.

This was a great poem. Little things like "Your vision is so incredibly distorted" gave a really human characteristic to the speakers. I really enjoyed :)

This conversation is a hard one, especially for the one who is trying so hard to lift up the other's spirits. It was well done. I felt the love, desperation, and desolutionment between the two.

If it came the other day, it is excellent...
