Lighthouse

I hunger, tangled up in nets
abandoned by the fishermen.
I fight for each breath.
This is what it feels like to drown.

Night out at sea,
I wonder - will I ever find my way back?
I still recall your warm silken glow,
the firmness of your skin.

As my heart comes alive
and slowly begins to beat again,
I promise you this:
'I will not rest until I find you'.

jim The PoetBay support member heart!
I particularly like the lighthouse as a beacon for the last stanza, and the last line of your beautiful poem.
