Of A Boy

I fell in love with you on a cold, winter day
But I saw in your eyes a lost, autumn trail.

Your eyes are as dark as my nights are now
(So are you)
But once you felt like home.

I love the way your veins are raised against your skin.
Your hands possess a power that you do too and it intoxicates me.

I write about you to get you to flow out of me..like the ink flows out of my pen..
But the words do not form.
I think you like the warmth of me.
But like an ice-man you freeze my blood.

I never told you how much you meant to me..but you always knew.

I thought you loved me but I learnt a little late
possession is never love.
It's just black and blue.

one trick pony The PoetBay support member heart!
your poem says so much, your search for the words to express your feelings of love and letting go.

the first two lines and the last three lines could be a poem all by themselves. the last line makes the whole poem crystal clear.
