Is there no way to break free?

Routine

Waking up
Going to your destination
Shaking up
Your head in animation
Faking high
Ignoring your dreams and goals
Walking by
Cursing laws carved in stone

Its a routine life that kills ingenious minds
You know?
Its a routine strife to beat routine, on the go
You know?

The spirit of passion, receding slowly
Routine consumes you, feeds on you wholly
Until you see your guitar you bought
Ages back when you cared for battles you fought

The will to win rejuvenates
The want to lead percolates
The hard and winding road we take
Is the one that's free from your secure fate

Its a routine life that kills ingenious minds
You know?
Its a routine strife to beat routine, on the go
You know?

Rays from the spectrum of emotions Absorbed by human heart
Feedback of your future self
Haunts your present art

Time to think, time to feel
Time you need for quarantine
All sacrificed, obliterated
For the one true king - Routine

Jamsbo and Josephus thank you very much do you these comments..

If you guys are aware about this band Rush, you'd know how insightful and deep their lyrics are... I was reading their lyrics and at office when I got a minute free from hours are work..

It just hit me how messed up lives get due to this god of evil.. That is, Routine.. This is a poem about hate and helplessness all in one..

I hope to write something positive in the future, though..

There are some really nice phrases in this piece. Routine is easy to fall into and hard to shake. We must all repudiate, innovate and break free! Nice work.

The subtle evil that tries to encapsulate us all!

As Elliot says... "not with a bang but a whimper"

Your rhyme skills are great in this as are your rhythms. Well done.
