in the center of infinity

endless grassy fields,
bright green -
and in the center of infinity,
a stage

we claim up on top
from amidst the audience,
and exit stage right
into the shadow
of the shady oak

i encountered a homeless man today,
he was asking for just a few dollars
because he was hungry
but i turned him down,
lying that i had no money on me
(i bit my tongue)

on the way home, i got a bottle of liquor,
i went home and i

consumed it

and the plastic wrapper
from the little debbie's brownie
is just blowing in the wind

one trick pony The PoetBay support member heart!
the first nine lines, and the title, make a satisfying, ethereal poem, full of potential. then, lying, drunkenness, product placement, and littering.

Jamsbo Rockda The PoetBay support member heart!
A very nice piece. We always feel guilty about something. Guilt drives the universe.

The selfishness of humanity. The planet as a stage in infinity.
The greed ad lack of caring. It seems it's all there.
Good one. It's our world today.
