Resilience

I'll tuck myself
into myself

because your bed
is no longer
my security blanket

and your arms
cannot encircle
my sense of self.

I'll tuck myself
into myself

because I created
my own warmth
when you iced over

and morning frost
cannot freeze
my bony core.

I'll tuck myself
into myself

because I am

resilient

and you are

cracked.

An extremely well expressed situation. Most of us eventually have to rely on ourselves. Those who do not learn to tuck themselves into themselves I think are unfortunate to not have the stoic independence. This is a very good piece.

Nicely simple and direct. Great ending.

Tight, concise, and full of striking and original lines. Yes, it's good to know that we'll be alright after the storm has passed. Enjoyed.
