The Pink Spider
There she is...Glowing
Her wings floating perfectly on her back
Flirting bashfully behind her silk tresses
Her halo poured faintly to the right like a chic beret
Alluring
But...
Within the blink of an eye
The street wilts into silence
My private thoughts echo piercingly
And as sudden as a soft snow
All are entranced
I recognize this feeling
But wait...
I hear an anxious rhythm of feet
I peek in horror over my shoulder
Peering from the 5 o' clock shadow of the sun
There it is...
Eyes numb to my chest
I scamper
The lone man stirring
Tripping over my overwhelming thoughts
I fall
Not now, not this
Its legs are hirsute
--- Or are they mine?
Mystified
Excited by the throb of my heart
It pounces and disappears into my chest
Darn it, I left my heart open again
It swathes eight legs around my soul
The world rouses again
Aw man, the pink spider has invaded me
I'm in love
