An Old Photograph

an old photograph of a man at a train station
he could be the unknown solder
or the man who killed another man
or the man who saved a life
or a man who couldn't read or write
he sits in sepia, ageing around the edges
did he have a son or daughter
did he have a wife
did he have a boy friend
did he smoke
did he drink
what were his secrets
was he good, was he bad
did he go to church
did he believe
did he give a fuck
did the train arrive on time
was he waiting for someone
who took the photograph and why
was he about to jump under the train
was he about to push someone under the train
..............

Just an old sepia photograph, about 1945 I would guess

Old photos make you wonder those things. They are like people forever frozen in time. I enjoyed reading this.
