Thank you for your inspirational comment on my previous poem "Nothing fails like success" Lawrence Beck

Eyes resting on words

I wanted to be a writer talk to the reader
Which reader? The one that I was(becoming?)
while reading all those books during my childhood
and later on adulthood. Then the internet came
Hurrah! I would be talking to the reader within
the readers! ... and then, then the online reality
came in and oh my what made everyone
as special but allow me to clarify

Each and everyone unique and I start talking to
everything that was special within each and everyone
of my readers and then I start writing when being triggered
by another writer Oh dear that didn't work out so well
One day I stopped writing because I could barely recognize
my writing voice and the genuine need to share how I
experience the world ... No! This has to end! I thought
to myself I will start writing like I talk to myself and hehe
I would not need to give the definition of each and every word I
type! My success would be that I managed to finish a text!
For every word I create I change and by the end of each text I will
be on my way to another inner journey or trip to memory lane.
I am a writer and the reader is a shapeshifter.

I suppose it is a question of originality. Can there ever really be such a thing? Surely our writing is blancmange of experience, knowledge and influence. I think every story or idea presented has been done before. From the Iliad to Star Wars. The ingredients differ but the recipes are basically the same. Otherwise they would not be caught by the reader. That is just my thoughts of course. Again you cover such interesting ground.

I agree with StillHoppin. Writers also are shapeshifters. You said it quite well yourself

For every word I create I change and by the end of each text I will
be on my way to another inner journey or trip to memory lane.

i think most writers are driven by the need to talk to the reader... to connect with.... themselves? we are indeed shapeshifters, although, i'd daresay it applies to writers as well as readers... perhaps moreso? this piece definitely causes reflection (on what it is to write, on why we read, on the connection shared by readers and writers, on how the "online reality" affects these things) and the flow of it makes it seem as though the reader were briefly in your mind with you, exploring your stream-of-consciousness as it occurs. well done!
