Making Footprints in the Sand

Clouds are thickening, cold winds are blowing.
The talking heads say it soon will be snowing.
Hunker down, they say this is a big one.
Kids are excited for some outdoor winter fun.

Grocery shelves are looking mighty bare.
Folks loading up like they'll never get back there.
Highway workers are loading trucks with sand,
They are ready to execute their plan.

I'd rather be in the islands,
Making footprints in the sand and not the snow.
Where salt is used for margaritas
Let's hop on a plane and just go!

Schools are closing simply on the forecast.
I just saw that on the news broadcast.
If they're wrong some faces sure will be red
If they're right they'll get raises instead.

I'd rather be in the islands,
Making footprints in the sand and not the snow.
Where salt is used for margaritas
Let's hop on a plane and just go!

Winter in the tropics
Beat the ice and snow
Let's throw a bag together
Hop a plane and just go!

I'd rather be in the islands,
Making footprints in the sand and not the snow.
Where salt is used for margaritas
Let's hop on a plane and just go!
