The Light Side of Somewhere
Somewhere and sometime,a life begins,
cradled in the arms,
of family and kin,
a mothering sister,
a loving brother,
a paternal father,
a doting mother.
Somewhere and sometime,
a junkie is caught,
and he realizes,
it was all for naught,
two years later,
out of his prison cell,
with a wife, a job, a kid,
and a safeguard from hell.
Somewhere and sometime,
we're sitting in a glade,
beneath a great oak tree,
in this cool, sweet shade,
slowly and gently,
I turn my weathered face,
and receive the guilty warmth,
of your heavenly embrace.
