A year and a half ago I wrote a piece about my husband's heart surgery called A Widow's Pain. Shortly after that, complications set in. This is the rest of the story.

One in Three

He is with me, and so is HE
We remain together
One in Three

He nearly left me, twice in a day
HE's never left
HE is here to stay

His heart stopped beating. I saw the death sign
Medics pumped fiercely
As HIS heart held mine

Relief was short lived, again he died
I watched it all over
With HIM by my side

Mid tubes and wires, I watched him breath
his heart was pumping
HE said mine would not grieve

He is still with me, and so is HE
We remain together
Still One in Three

Wow, poems about God are nearly never this intense. I am happy your faith gave you comfort and also helped you write this poem. About the poem, it is wonderful. It didn't even need the slight background on the top. The story holds true all by itself. After reading three of your poems I can honestly say You are a marvelous poet. I hope to read much more from you.
