As it picks on people down in their luck
Proposing the one true way,
Which would save thier soul TODAY!
Just because they're born far away
Or happen to be gay
The difference they say
Is something not of today
And what has happened to mankind?
That he feels the need to be unkind?
To someone genetically of his kind?
An always taught state of mind...
How can we then change
Allow ourselves to rearrange
Turn this into yesterday
And help our fellows on thier way?
Peace and love is what was taught,
By the ones who definitely ought
To have their names held up high
Looking down from the sky
I'm sure they're embarrassed by what they see
Embarrassed by you and me,
For misconstruing what they taught,
And bloody wars we have fought
How can we change this state of play?
By helping others on our way
And hoping that someday
That love and peace can win
