Mature love

Our love has found some peace and harmony
in leaving all exaggerations of dramatic kind behind
and finding rest in some maturity,
like swans together landing on the mirror of a lake
in absolute tranquillity with all the waves of storms forgotten,
leaving only calm and harmony in perfect silence
to be softly entertained, enjoyed and cultivated
in the smooth reflections of our tender memories
of happiness and bliss, that we in spite of all enjoyed
when we were younger and could dream without restraint
in blissful ignorance of coming worries, traumas and adversities –
our souls have never aged and can’t be broken down,
only growing in perpetual expansion and development
in concord with all nature, that never can give in
and compromise with the most natural of laws,
the rule of love that never can like any waterfall and sea
be checked, held back or stopped in all eternity.

"when I was younger, I made love a lot of times, now that I am older, a kiss on the cheek before sleeping is enough" (quoting my late uncle from America)
