This is the greatest lady I have every known

The Lady Daisy

Long and lithe, she dueled with strife
all of her 84 years
Like a ballet, she danced with each day
laughter supressing sad tears

Often through pain she'd look at the rain
and talk of flowers to come
Behind her blue eyes were waiting cries
selfpity, she would have none

With selfless abandon she was mother, companion
her family always came first
A wife of rare worth, she gave birth after birth
at her breast nine children would nurse

With tenderst smile she admired each child
and blessed it with a gentle kiss
A song she would sing, a story bring
to young ears her voice was bliss

She spun her tales of puppies and whales
as on her throne she rocked
Raw years conspired to make her tired
but her spirit ignored the clock

With amusement and class she recalled the past
and continued her entertaining way
Singing hymns with her husband, she showed that she loved him
by her laughter and coy words she'd say

Hurting and dying she stiffled her crying
and waited for her trip home
Surrounded by singing, the angels came winging
to carry the lady along

Far from the pain, far from the rain
there was no need for her to cry that day
Her children blessed her, her husband caressed her
And said "Momma, be at peace, its' okay."

Some colorful and creative images here: years that conspire to tire, and a rocking throne... Entertaining!

An Excellent work!
So very touching and written with a delicate charm and laced with a tender sadness...but at the same time JOY!
