The Prayer

God grant me the serenity
Help me one day at a time
Destroy the evils within me
Allow me peace of mind
Please give to me solace
Place your light upon my path
Help walk me through this
You are the only guide I have
Reach out to me lord
Please take my hand
Open my eyes for me lord
Deliver me into the promised land
Sometimes its hard for me to pray
There are moments I just don't understand
I'm trying hard to say goodbye to my yesterdays
So that I may carry out todays plan
I'm welcoming all of my tomorrows
I know that you will give me better days
You've helped me survive a life of sorrow
And replaced my pain with praise
So that I could be forgiven
You placed your only son upon a wooden cross of pain
He died there for my sins
And I thank you God for allowing me to be saved
