Something i wrote with my friend Michelle. Hope you like!
We beside each other through the year
And became closer each day
Soon we were walking to class together,
Eating lunch with our friends but sitting
Beside each other the whole time
High school came, and that was difficult
We didn't have any classes together,
And I needed to see you to help make
My day so much better
Luckily you came up with a plan, to meet
After my lunch and your 3rd period
Though it was only for a minute or so,
Just to be held in your arms made my day.
We remained friends through high school
And our friends were constantly telling us
We should be together.
But we were both afraid of the aftermath
Of what could happen if things didn't
Work out
Then one day when we were both seniors
We walked to my house
Like we usually did every other Friday
As I got a tape ready to show you,
You began looking though my CD's
I didn't even know you were up to something
Until I heard my favorite slow dance song
Moon River
I turned around to see you standing there arms
Extended, "Dance with me." You said
And I smiled back
So there we were dancing in my small room
To Moon River
We both held each other, both secretly never
Wanting the moment to end
However the song did end, we stopped
Dancing but held onto each other still
"I better get that tape..." I began to say
Then you did something I'd wanted you
To do for years....
You kissed me
And I kissed you back
Now here we are almost 10 years later
Married
Both of us with careers you as a Chef
And I in advertising
We're a small family yes
But that will soon change in
Nine Months
