Who really cares anyway
As I walk the hallways of falsity
Ill go up the street & run away
& leave a tape recorder in place of me

It was only the words you missed
As long as you felt good inside
As long as there was a head you kissed
& it welcomed you as you tried

Run down the street
Catch a ride with the late
Close the door & keep the secret
Keep running from the hate

Sinking into the water
Make it to the heart-shaped isle
Its the overlooked daughter
Just close your eyes & imagine the smile

It was only the words you missed
Without those you're lost
I don't know how you would know this
But those slip ups really cost

Swim into the water
Underneath the waves
Ignore the lightening
Who really cares anyway

Jump into the sky
& fall through the clouds
Think you can fly
Ignore the sounds

Until you splash in
Don't believe your eyes
It can't happen again
The flower wilts & dies

Take out your markers
It is still bright
Maybe if you think harder
It will be alive

You cant change it
No matter how much you do
It was simply its fate
You have to accept what is true

Who really cares anyway
I think Ive become lost
Someone will notice one of these days
But no one so far

Who really cares anyway
Just keep on walking
Ill be the one that stays
