as morning

remembering joy
the light sense in our hearts
resting among rusty armour

promises broken
shoulders tight
as words seek hurt

wind singing within
a ruptured pain
beneath tears of sorrow

so lie still once more
as morning heals the night

I like particularly the symmetry by which your opening title is reflected in the fine last stanza, "so lie still once more as morning heals the night". Life and day/night are circled beautifully, if with sad reflection.

Sad, strong, and fragile all at once... quite wonderful. Line 2 appears to need "light," line 10, "lie" if you want the reflexive meaning 'recline' rather than the transitive meaning 'place'...
