Actually a poem about the Holocaust, but can be interpreted in many ways.

You know?
How could
That be??
Oh nobody knows, and nobody will
Please tell
Do you
Have all
I seek??
They know, they did, but now they're gone
Who, why?
When, where?
They're gone
They're dead
Years of not knowing and suddenly YES
But now
It has
Flown out
Of earth
Why would a person take all that away?
A snap
A bang
A whack
A clang
What's worse, they took it away so swift
A fizz
A scratch
A cut
A match
What evil, what horrid beings could do
Don't think
Don't see
Don't feel
Don't live
How could they take that away from us?
Those were
The friends
The dears
Our people
