Fall to forget and rise to remember

Staring back at my reflection in the puddles on the ground
Skin so pale and eyes so cold, framed by locks of purest gold
Perfection broken only by the raindrops and the ripples
And on the inside, a heart so fragile
I sometimes wonder
- will it break
if I fall?

Curiosity aside we together meet at unspoken places to hide
Unuttered memories we collect and keep, afraid to forget
Friendship broken only by the lies we tell ourselves, each other
And on the inside, we fail to believe
I sometimes wonder
- for what sake
do we stay?

Scattered stars across a midnight blue sky so alike our feelings
Distant, frail and faltering but at closer look burning steadily
Fire broken only when the sun rises and erases our attraction
And on the inside, we struggle to remember
I sometimes wonder
- will we make
it out of here alive?

You have a fine balance of introspection and observation. This is very well done. Sorry I didn't see this when it was published. I hope you write more.
