i believe this is a haiku. i think tanka need to more lines of 7 syllables each. However, the haiku is right on.

This reminds me of a quote from the Buddha. He said, "Hatred does not cease through hatred at any time. Hatred ceases through love. This is an unalterable law."

The way I see it, in general, hate causes bad things to happen (another one of my favourite Buddha quotes, "All that we are is the result of what we have thought") and when these bad things happen, the victim begins to hate their persecutor, and when this happens, the victim is no better!

I would say that this all goes back to stereotyping people of other nations and heritages, how some people hate others because they speak differently, think differently, ect...

Anyway, your poem sums this all up very nicely. Great work!

And I hope you don't mind me using this space to express my views...
