HART AND MIND

The hart and mind of a child is open ,
Not so not so selective , if at all ,

As the years goo , though the hart ,
Remains open ,

The mind grows a little harder day ,
By day ,

As experiences of daily life takes it's toll ,
The hart hardens as dos the mind ,

All the time the candle is keep alight ,
Then some gentleness , softness ,
Will remain

Having spent the weekend with my youngest grandson (17 months) "the heart and mind of a child is open" is very true. He wants to experience everything, learn what it is and how it works, finding something he couldn't do yesterday that he can do today . . . and I get to experience it as he does. He teaches me and in turn I hope I can always be one of his "candles of gentleness".
