Each and evrey country has a history. History can be on going. Repeated all to often. Our countries are often have a connection in history, that tends to interconnect. In the 1930's ,the U S government had a war game about war with the UK,invading Canada.

THE WAR OF 1812 THE AMERICAN PEPOLE SAIDE NO NO

The American peoples ,

Have a history of being ,

Anti war , much to the ,

Governments disquiet ,

Beginning with the invaisan ,

Of Canada in 1812 ,

The American people were agin it ,

Were not for expansion ,

Quite happy with what they had ,

The government being a greedy lot ,

Wonted more and yet more ,

The American peoples took to the streets ,

Creating quite a to do upon the streets ,

The government was in stew , that were hotting up ,

The government were a tottering , and could of fallen ,

In 1815 , the red coats captured the Whitehouse ,

Those in residents at the time the red coats came a calling ,

Were having diner , so had to flee rather sharpish as you can imagine ,

Some I dear say were court we're their pants down below their knees ,

The red coats saw the diner upon the table , and thought , '' it's still hot! ''

''Cant let all that good grub goo ter waist! '' , and got stuck in to what lay before

Them ,

Being lads from Lancashire they were fair clemmd ,

After satisfying their thirst on President Madison port and brandy ,

After a good belch by all of the 20th of foot sat at the Presidents dinning table ,

It were time to be back to the business that had them a calling ,

They set light to the house a blaze! ,

Oh what a to do it were!

After , house painters painted over the evidence ,

Painted it white , and white ever since it has remained!

The British hot footed it back in to Canada , the job dun!

Canada , remains free!

The more things change, the more they stay the same, right, Ken? Say hello to Afghanistan.

You know much more of our American history than most of us do about English, but then yours is so much longer than ours. If not for Shakespeare we'd know even less. There is no doubt a certain arrogance in our not knowing, though I think part of it is that we have never related to monarchies, indeed very much the opposite. Still, we are remiss in not learning and understanding the people and events that made one small island the most powerful and influential force in the world for a very long time.
