If Love..

If love is of fire which some say is so,
Then mine turned to embers a passion ago -
And if there's still danger as daydreams advise,
May memories of languor make cinders of sighs:
No more will I smoulder or flirt with the flame -
For love proved a traitor to me and its name.

Deeply moving with rich images which bring forth emotions of loss and pain. You say so much in these few lines. Each word is important in conveying the intensity of the sorrow of lost love.
