decluttered mind

when the rain comes,
will you be ready?

silent night thoughts
unravel,
make their way
to the surface
of conscious waters
like a floating rock
in the sea

cigar smoke,
the sound of crickets,
the day is done,
accomplish, unaccomplished

and the impending rain
catches us all unaware

I like this poem so much. It reaches somewhere in my mind, both as a metaphor for the future and even taken word for word, as I live in a place where rain comes with consequences both metaphorical and physical. Very nicely done.
