wine and a zen moment

sitting out back,
sipping wine,
listing to the crickets
in the night -
zen moment

the spider web
which was constructed
in the power lines,
withstood the wind
which brought on the rain
of the previous days

(it's almost midnight)

I like wine, crickets, spider webs, rain--and zen moments. You've cataloged all my likes :).

This is a very fine poem with just the right amount of Eastern flavor to it. Enjoyed. It's always amazed me how something so silky and delicate as a spider web can also be so amazingly strong and durable.
