The Ninth Cloud
Written 2008-11-20My life has become very pleasant lately.
Although I've bitten off more than I can chew, it seems that I will finish this seventeen-credit semester with a high grade point average, if not a 4.0. With the close of this semester, I will be ever closer to the end of my current program. I am excited about starting my own life and having my own classroom full of adolescent minds to mold.
My work situation is favorable as well. After only being with PetSmart for five months (as a part time job to get me through college), I was promoted to a Lead, which meant a raise and keys, making it much easier for me to do my job and help my managers when things are in a bit of a pinch. Today I was offered the chance to move to Pet Training and become an accredited dog trainer. I love dogs. Meeting dogs and helping their "pet parents" better care for them is what I love about my job. I am happy to say that I am excited to go to work each day. That is rare, especially for someone working a part time job through school. As a trainer, I'll get more interaction with the dogs and their "pet parents." I hope I get the position. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
In addition to my academic and professional success at the moment, things have been going very well with my boyfriend and I cannot wait to see him for Thanksgiving. The distance has gotten easier to manage over the last year. I suppose it is because I know he isn't going anywhere, so to speak. We've learned a lot of valuable things these past few months. I've learned and come to realize so many things about myself and our relationship that have done nothing but make my love for him and my desire to do right by him stronger. I am the luckiest woman in the world.
