I am a forgetful person, I usually only end up remember important things, or specifics tied to important people or objects in my life.
That, at times, leads to me reading my own poems and being mildly surprised at myself. I think I have gone through much in my 17 years and counting of life, and the surprise is that I end up forgetting I've passed through certain experiences.
I started putting pen to paper during my english lessons about two years ago. Having learnt English first over my native language, unlike my peers, I did not need grammatical or spelling correction as much as them. The English lesson in a sense limited me, it was far too basic, so I decided to do something useful, which lead to poem number 1: Nostalgia, which surprisingly is written about the English lesson.
After showing them to my teacher (who did not seem to mind that I used her hour for poem writing rather than taking notes), she continually insisted that I start to collect them together, "because they're good".
I started with here because it looks and is a good place to start. Where my poems will take me next though, I have no idea. Time will tell I guess.
