The Trails lead back Home
When I think about my home so far away
And the memories abundant here to stay
No other location could ever compare
To the many friends and family I have there
Some years ago I moved from that place
And found myself in a different space
The friends that I had were left behind
I thought no solution could help me unwind
I took each day and week hour by hour
And found a medium to regain power
I found myself a close circle of friends
Who'd have my best interest to the end
Hiatus had come and we went on break
What adventure on this leave would I take
One trip down memory lane was on my list
Thoughts abound would constantly persist
I will never forget the bonds that I've made
The friends I've loved and the games I've played
Just as the moon rises when the sun goes down
My destination in time will be my hometown
Ely's the place where I want to be
A town kept in the valley and the air is free
A ghost train for amusement if nothing to do
And nature surrounds us; this fact is true
Nothing I experience can ever erase
All the friendships made in that place
Ely
