Cruising friends are come and go;being all of us, sea gypsys. This couple were joy personified. Today we discovered they both had last week, died of food poisoning!


In silent painful memory

We sat and talked
Laughed and loved
Precious moments
Serendipitously spun

Then left our separate ways
They're joyful hearts
Excited by adventures
Yet to come

Texts and emails
Exchanged in haste
A promise that
We would all
Meet once more

Lovely memories
Tapestried in recall
Shattered by
A news item
Both dead

So sad. The short lines add to the feeling of how abruptly people are taken from us. It must have been a shock. This is a true tribute to lives that run parallel and are suddenly lost.
