Grey

Here I sit and here I pray
That each of these feelings will go away
Each terrible shade of grey
Ebbing into black and fading away
Here I lay and here I stay

But what of all the feelings lost
Sadness gone but what of love
What about each word that was felt
kindness softly spoken
What of feelings of strength
Each flower picked
each hand squeezed
Each sunrise and sun set
Each goosebump and toe curl
Each time I wanted my eyes closed
What about each time I peeked
Each time I laughed until my stomach hurt and
Each time I cried was a lesson learnt
What of the sky and sea breeze brushing my cheek
What of the smells
grass and fruits so sweet
Each time I was brought to my knees
What of the times I stood
Where I was supposed to fall
What of the times I had it all
What of the feeling of losing everything but myself
What of the feelings never to be felt
The grey is just a shade what if light came in, what if it was dulled and never to be seen again

Enjoyed reading your poem
The rhythm and the flow is so familiar.
I dwell in this ebb and flow. Good one!

This grey thing will pass. Nonetheless, a beautiful poem to read and reflect upon.
