A sea shanty I trawled up from a previous voyage.
She lets you kiss her briny lips,
But if you cause her deep distress,
She'll break the hearts of your ships.
The sea is a bawdy mistress,
She waves you to her sandy bed,
But never stay in her caress
For you'll surely end up dead.
The sea is a jealous mistress,
Treat her like a shore-wife, do,
For her more means less,
So make sure your love stays true.
The sea is a fickle mistress,
She turns flesh into bones,
When she tires of your excess,
She'll send you to Davy Jones.

The Mistress
The sea is a generous mistress,She lets you kiss her briny lips,
But if you cause her deep distress,
She'll break the hearts of your ships.
The sea is a bawdy mistress,
She waves you to her sandy bed,
But never stay in her caress
For you'll surely end up dead.
The sea is a jealous mistress,
Treat her like a shore-wife, do,
For her more means less,
So make sure your love stays true.
The sea is a fickle mistress,
She turns flesh into bones,
When she tires of your excess,
She'll send you to Davy Jones.
